One symbol, several networks
Tether documents USDT on Ethereum in ERC-20 format and on Tron in TRC-20 format. The USDT symbol alone is therefore not enough to identify the destination. In the table below, the two lines refer to different combinations: choose the one offered by your wallet's receiving function.

Open USDT receiving, note the network, then copy your personal deposit address. Compare the information after pasting. The token contract address shown in documentation is not your receiving address. If your wallet offers multiple networks, do not rely only on the resemblance of addresses.

Is TRC-20 always cheaper than ERC-20?
No. The cost depends on network conditions, the resources available in the wallet, and the terms of the quote. Compare the proposed amount and the send cost actually displayed at the same moment.
Is an address starting with 0x enough to receive USDT ERC-20?
No. The receiving wallet or service must confirm that it accepts USDT on Ethereum. A compatible address format alone does not prove support for the token and the network.
Can I send USDT ERC-20 to a TRC-20 destination?
Not directly. Set up a conversion whose deposit is explicitly USDT on Ethereum and whose receipt is USDT on Tron, then follow the instructions specific to that order.
Is the minimum the same in both directions?
Not necessarily. Request a quote in the desired direction and for the desired amount. Limits may differ between Tron to Ethereum and Ethereum to Tron.
